A Natural Thermal Pool

‘Live your life and forget your age’ (Positive Thinking Every Day by Norman Vincent Peale).

Sometimes when taking a drive we discover a little hidden gem.

About 2 weeks ago we were driving in an area about 20 minutes from home called ‘Trois Rivieres’ (Three Rivers) when we came across a signpost for ‘Le Bain des Amours’ (Lovers’ bath). Curious, we parked the car and followed some steps down a path under some trees which crosses the rainforest. It leads to a heart-shaped thermal basin where the sulfurous warm water from the volcano ‘La Soufriere’ flows directly into the pool. These waters are known for their medicinal virtues, for relieving the joints, relaxing the muscles and softening the skin.

What a way to spend a relaxing birthday morning a couple of weeks later!
